puppy potty training

Hi everyone
my baby girl is now almost 4 months old. She goes to day care daily and when she gets back home i take her out two times for walks and she does her business. she goes on command when we are outside and i am very happy about that. but sometimes, still has accidents in the house, even though it may be only 2-3 hours that she had gone outside. is there something i should worry about or it is just a matter of time until she really gets it that she is not supposed to go in the house?

It sounds like you are pretty well on track with the potty training. Realize though, that for a 4 month old dog, a 2-3 hour stretch is still a pretty long time. She may need an additional trip out to relieve herself. Potty training isn't really about teaching the dog that they aren't supposed to go to the bathroom in the house, it is more about teaching the dog that outside is a much better place to go to the bathroom. The more chances she has to go outside and do her business, the more likely she will make that association. If she occassionally has an accident after 2 or so hours, I'd be taking her out every two hours.

2-3 hours? Brodie only lasts that long in his crate - lol! If Brodie's out and about, playing, etc., he needs to go at least every hour; oftentimes more often if he's drinking water. Take your dog out more often to avoid accidents.

Thanks guys. I guess she has been behaving so well that some time I forget she is still a puppy and will do her business inside when she feels it's time for her business!
