Question too friendly...

Hello, I have a 3 1/2 months male puppy. The thing is that he is too friendly. If we are outside walking he sees some one he wants to go there. Basically all the time that we go outside, he wants to greet the unknown neighbors, walkers etc.
Please some advice. Thanks!
Mk.

That is very much a puppy thing, and really it's a good thing... much better than him acting fearful or aggressive towards new people. He just needs to learn to control his impulses, which is very hard for a puppy to do. Part of that will come with training as you teach him to walk nicely on the leash.

^ This.

It is totally normal, and much better than if he didn't like anybody. But as they get a little older they will be a bit more wary of things. Boa is just over 6 months and only now shows the slightest bit of hesitation at some people. Most he still gets the butt a wiggling and wants to say hi. I like it. I have a 9 yr old German Shepherd that is very wary of people, so I like having the opposite, one that loves everyone and everything. But yea, its a puppy thing.

One of my puppies does the same thing. He wants to meet everyone that walks by! My other one is still really friendly, however, he is also starting to growl/bark a little bit now. They are 5 months old and I'm sure it will pass soon.

I think it's a good thing if they are being friendly..you don't want them to be aggressive towards others. My previous boxer was really friendly with anyone that would be inside our home (as soon as they didn't get up too fast -he would always watch ppl and always wanted to make sure nobody was going to do something to harm him or us) Outside was a different story..He would pull/bark/growl/etc if someone walked by us ...being over-protective that's for sure. I kinda liked it..I'm not really a person who likes a lot of people petting my dog, etc..but at the same time always had to make sure nobody was walking at the same time as we were!
