dog door size, type??

We need to install a doggie door and are just not sure what size we will need. Our Boxer is still a pup. Also are there any suggestions on types or manufacturers?

There are many different types of dog doors out there. The cheap ones don't last very long, but if you can get replacement flaps it will help. I just recently bought a new one. It's called a Multi-Flex Pet door. It seems to works quite well and hasn't been blowing open by the wind, which was the problem with previous door. The door I really wanted was the Plexidor, but it was just too expensive.

I would buy the best door that you can afford. It will probably be worth it in the long run.

is extra large door necessary?

We were trying to decide if we really needed the large size or if the dog will crouch a bit when entering. Would like to keep the door as small as possible.

We had one that fitted with the sliding doors. We had the PetSafe Extra Large. We loved it & so did Billy.

The size will vary depending on the manufacturer. I thought our last one was a large, but my new one is an extra large and it is smaller. It caused a bit of a problem in installation.
