Easy Walk Dog Harness - Size

I decided to give the easy walk dog harness a try and while sizing it to nixxon he seems to be in between medium and large. the belly strap on the medium on the longest length seems too tight with the chest and other straps being ok. the large all on the shortest length is definitely too big. my boxer is 8 months and around 45 pounds, so should he still has plenty of growing to do. should i go ahead with the large or leave him on the medium? i am not sure if this type of harness is meant to be tight or ok being somewhat loose. the store didn't have the medium/large size.

I understand your issue. I have Tyson in a medium and occassionally I have to adjust it during the walk. A medium/large would be perfect but the medium is OK. I previously brought the large and had to return it. It was way too big. Your boxer may never grow into the large. You may have to contact the manufacturer for the medium/large size.

Well we have the large but our boy is 13 months old (he was 60lbs a month ago not sure what weight now). We actually have the large on the smallest setting though as it would be too big otherwise. I believe for it to work effectively it shouldn't be loose.

These actually come in "1/2" sizes or "tweeners".
Without going into smaller sizes they have:
Medium
Medium/Large (a tweener size)
Large
X-Large

My girl is 60-ish pounds and her large is a bit big BUT I keep it pretty loose on her as I don't use it for regular walks any longer but for trips to the vet when she "forgets" that she isn't a puller!
You might try the tweener size.
I use the medium for a few of my Vizsla dog walking clients. They are smaller than *most* Boxers and are all between 40 and 50 pounds.

They are meant to fit rather snug, it's not like fitting a collar. If it's too loose I find that it slides around a lot and isn't the most effective. Plus, my mom once went ahead and loosened Juno's up a bit and she manged to actually slip her way out of it (she was in the car and not actually on a walk thank God, but still. That shouldn't happen lol).

I didn't even know they had in-between sizes, that's good to know even though I'm not in the mood to buy a new one. Currently I have Juno in the medium, and the shoulder strap is too tight but the belly strap is too loose... now I'm wondering if the medium/large size would fit her better. Or perhaps I'm just horrible at adjusting it and need to go back to the beginning and re-fit it properly!

tip

One of the trainers gave me a tip one night at class. She said that sometimes if you turn it around (belly strap on the top) it can help with odd sizes. It worked like a charm and now the medium fits well on Emma (47lbs)

never heard of the above tip, I guess it's a good idea to try, but usually a boxer has such a deep chest that you need to have the longer part around the belly and the shorter part on top. Both my boxers are around 62-66lbs and the large fits perfect.

the medium/large size i found on line was absolutely perfect. he will probably out grow the belly strap in 4-6 months, but i can get a new one then. so far he walks great on it until he sees people at which point he will stand up on his back legs. at least he stopped jumping though.
