Finally more Diamond/TOTW recall
It's about time! Unfortunately it took humans getting ill from the food to get it all recalled.

Anything that has been manufactured at that plant is being recalled - "guilty by association" sort of thing:
Distributor States Canidae, Natural Balance, and one Wellness Product Recalled
I am glad I don't work tomorrow so I don't have to check all our stock. We got the notice about the Wellness LB Puppy right before close tonight and had to pull a bag off the shelf that had one of the recalled best-by dates.
Such a mess, we're going to have a lot of really unhappy customers if we have any recalled stock of the other brands. Especially the Natural Balance.
This is so frustrating.

Finally! They know they are screwed, that's why they tried to avoid this at all costs.....

All I have is my receipt, the bag is gone, we dump our food into a sealed container for both the dog and cats. Is this for cat food by TOTW as well?

Ugh, just checked the production code and date on my bag of Pacific Stream, and my bag is part of the recall. Is anyone else going to switch cold turkey to a new food? I don't even want a replacement bag not affected by the recall, I just want something made by a different company.

Wellness is going to have a lot of unhappy customers too (myself included). Not impressed that I was paying premium food prices for the food to be made from inferior ingredients by a shady company.

I switched Happy and Sky cold turkey but they tolerate food switches very well in general, so I didn't have a problem. If you think your boy can't handle switching to a new food without transition you could cook up some chicken and rice and then gradually add in the new kibble.

I have an unopened bag of the TOTW recalled food.
It about made me sick to look at the bag Raine has been eating from. Thankfully I have had it for a bit and it wasn't included in the recall.
I started a transition this week but am far from near finishing it but will have to do what I have to do to ensure she remains unaffected.
Hopefully her digestive system can handle a quicker switch.

I think that the members of this forum have been quite lucky as the alarm bells were rang eairly on and people using the Diamond products were alerted to the risk but the poor unaware pet owners out there may have been poisoning their pets for weeks.
So hats off to Boxer World and its members as without this site a lot of our treasured wiggle butts may have been at the very least quite ill.

There has been an expansion on the recall. They have added more states including Missouri and Kansas. Diamond Pet Recall |
What I bought for Arabella doesn't have that lot #, which I am relieved about. However I am not trusting at this time and have already thrown a partial and an unopened bag out. I still have one and will throw in out as well. It pains me to throw out approx $100 worth of food, but at the same time I know my girl is safe.

One more thing for those who feed different dogs different foods. I was using one measuring cup for both dogs. I have since stopped and they each have their own now. The thought of cross contamination put a bit of a worry in me. The last thing Thor would need is something else to deal with.

Great idea. And yes for sure Thor does not need another battle to fight.
