Daisy has been on TOTW kibble with a little bit of TOTW canned food for months now... About a week and a half ago she had a couple of vomiting episodes (she never vomits normally, except when waking up from her spay); she also developed incredibly runny/smelly diarrhea. That was before I had seen there was anything going on with Diamond foods, so I kept her on that food. Since I saw these threads, however, I've switched her to Earthborn. Better safe than sorry!

If any of you can make a call to TOTW and let them know that your pups have been ill too, it may give them more info than what they are claiming: "There have been no reported illnesses". Which peeves me, because I know of 6 owners including myself that contacted them about their dogs being sick.

I also found in some research, in 2005, this plant was responsible for hundreds of pet deaths due to contaminated food. So, I am surmizing that this plant has not learned it's lesson and is refusing to change protocols in their manufacturing.

I will NOT be buying any of their foods ever again. This is an absolute disregard for the customer's pet health and well being. I assume the star ranking will reflect that soon, at least I hope.

I have switched to Earthborn and have to say, my dogs are thrilled!! AND I am finding the poop size is even smaller! YES!!! Their coats are getting back to the shiney fur they once had months ago and their energy has improved. Looking back, I am thinking that TOTW was bad food for several months. I started to notice issues back in December with Buster. First appetite, then diahrrea, then abnormal shedding, rough fur, excessive thirst, grass grazing which he has never done, ever! About a month ago, you would have thought I had goats and not dogs. All four were grazing every time they went outside.

I'm so happy to have my dogs on their way to health again. I was really getting worried about them.

Yes, since there is no Diamond Pet Food plant(s) in Canada, the TOTW purchased here in Canada would come from the affected plants in the U.S.

Hmmm. I wonder if that "no reported illnesses" claim includes the 14 confirmed cases of human salmonella that have been directly linked to Diamond's plant in Gaston, SC. So much for transparency.

I know many of you feed TOTW. Here's the latest update on the TOTW recall:

Taste of the Wild Recall

I also read some conflicting reports about the only affected variety of TOTW to be included in the voluntary recall is the lamb formula. According to this link, the recall includes all skus (no cat or can skus are affected ... or so they say.):
