Re: Dog Food Recall

I am still shocked to hear all the brands involved! I hope that anyone who feeds these makes sure they check their labels. I am glad that this site is available to teach us to read labels, etc!

Exclamation Re: Dog Food Recall

ALL I can say is THANK GOD I FEED RAW!!! I KNOW what goes into my babies! This is soooo scarey! My 21yr old cat Sylvestor eats IAMS dry food.. but has for a long time.. I can sincerely say... HE WON'T EAT IT ANYMORE!
Think it's time for Sly to have a big change for the better...
Yup.. I'd be freaking out if my two white boxer "kidz" ate anything other than raw... What a relief!
Hope everyone uses their email to SPREAD THE WORD! How horrible.. to think anyone would lose their precious pets to such an awful thing! I sent all info out to all on my email list.. even those that don't own pets, as they will surely pass it on!
I pray that none in BW have experienced any bad health issues with their pets due to this BS!

Re: Dog Food Recall

Is this just kibble and wet food? I do not feed any of it but do have some treats that are one of those brands. .. The 1-800 does to seem to pick up

Re: Dog Food Recall

its just the wet foods and only the cuts of meat in gravy...i've decided to start making my own canned food i'm not sure how to do it but i'll figure it out..i see Ben and Jerry ice cream had a recall too. just seems this winter alot of food problems have happend both humane and pet i don't know whats going on but it needs to be fixed..
i wont go raw i don't think thats a perfect fix either alot of people have problems with that too ..i guess i don't know the answers just hope it gets resolved soon...

Re: Dog Food Recall

Seems as if Alpo is the only low budget food not affected.

Re: Dog Food Recall

well Diesel ate some over the weekend. Seems to be ok, I threw away the rest last night after I heard about it on the news. He was getting some of the Nutro Wet from time to time.

Re: Dog Food Recall

Not sure if it is a new development or not but I see that Nutro Ultra is on the list of recalled foods. Just thought I would mention it since it is considered a premium food.

Re: Dog Food Recall

Does anyone know the time between eating the food and symptoms starting-it is immediate? Just curious as someone asked me and I really do not know...

Re: Dog Food Recall

I asked my vet the same question and she told me that it could be up to two weeks until symptoms show up.
She wants me to bring a urine sample in.
I was feeding both Nutro Ultra dry and Ultra canned mixed together.
So far there are no signs luckily.
