By the sounds of it she needs to see a vet now, not Monday. I think your vet should have made an effort to see her. I know it is expensive, but maybe a trip to another vet or if there aren't any open now, an ER vet. If she is in enough pain to be biting and growling, there is something definately wrong. If you can't make it to a vet before Monday, at the very least, make sure she is getting enough liquids. You said she has a hard time drinking b/c she can't get that low so either bring the dish to where she can reach it comfortably or give her water out of a bottle or something. I hope you can find the solution to this problem soon and that poor Pay starts feeling better real soon. Good luck and keep us posted.

I hope all goes well with Payton; I am saying a prayer for her that her condition isn't too serious. I hope Shaunna is alright, too.

I think she is hurt, but being dramatic. She freaked out a min ago, but now she is eating her chicken and she jumped off the bed. She is drinking. She shut her head in the car window 2 days ago. I bet it hurts. She may be in pain but she is sure in there crunching crunching crunching away. I guess we will see what hapens. If she gets any worse AT ALL think DW is going to make me go to the ER vet.

Wow. That's sounds pretty bad. I'm just catching up after the first round of posts. Do you have an emergency clinic you can go to? I don't know if I could wait until Monday with your pup not being able to leandown. That sounds like something bad....Sasha does weird stuff all the time but never bites from it. Just love her--sending prayers and doggie kisses from sash

Ok, I'm confused? She shut her head in the car window a few days ago? That could seriousl be why her neck hurts. I would get X-Rays, especially since you said she can't turn her head or look down. Poor thing. I used to live in Indy and loved, loved, loved Dr. Fowler at Banfield Pet Hospital in Plainfield. They are open on the weekends and would get you in if you tell them it's an emergency. Please get her to a vet ASAP. Dogs will act out and bite when they are in pain. KUP

Oh dear. That is indicative of a dog in severe pain - you've really got to get her to a vet and xrayed. If you don't want to do the emergency vet thing, then definitely try to find one open on the weekend to see her. This does not sound like the sort of thing that can wait until Monday.
On the "up" side, it's more likely that you're dealing with an injury than hip dysplasia. Can't say that that injury is necessarily minor though.

Update
Last night was hit and miss. Her fever went sky high and I gave her a bath ans she seemed ok. Even played for a min.
Now she wont eat or drink. She just pooped in the house while looking directly at me. She NEVER does that.
I called my grandma and she said take her to the vet right now. I told her we cant afford it. She said she will pay for it. I am on the way to a vet and hopefully with a phone call they will let my grandparents pay since we have no $$ and my grandparents live an hour away.
Please send some vibes...I dont know what this is but i cant loose my girl........

mybe a pinched nerve
we just got back form the ER the Vet thanks payton has a pinched nerve and she gave use a price of $1470 to run test to see if it is and they wonted to keep her over night. I had to make a very tough call I ask the Vet to give payton some meds to make her fill better so me and my DW can talk about it the 1470 is just for the test and the surgry will be 2000 or more if it is a pinched nerve. we did get aproved for a 1000 loan to pay for it and my DW grandparents said that they will give us 500 to help but we still dont have the funds for the surgry if needed. with the med's to help with the pain we hope she can make it to her vet. where he wil be alot cheeper then the ER We love are baby girl so much I just hope it turn out that se has pulled muscle becouse at the price she said for the surgry we cant aford it and I will not let her suffer pleas send her hugs and kiss's we layed her down to get some sleep and she is snoring away god pleas help us she just a baby

Upset....vent
How do you make this kind of decision? On one hand I want to do everything I can to make her better. On the other hand, I cant loose my home and everything in it trying. Financially we just can not afford thousands of dollars. I know that we should of thought about that before blah blah blah....to late for that now. Whats done is done and I have a VERY sick and hurting boxer puppy. If she does not get better (which I dont think she will) in 6 days (which is how long we have pain meds....that dont seem to be working) we may have to put her down. We are going to take her to our vet and see what he says. Also we may take her to benefield to see what they say too. I dont want to give up, and I am willing to get the x-rays and see what they show. But as far as 1400 just in tests...and then surgery. I just cant do it. She is my heart and soul. I have cried all night I dont know what to do. Please let her just magically get better. I dont want to have to put my girl out of her suffering. I cant STAND to hear her yell out one more time. She is in so much pain. Her eyes say it all and they are shooting through my heart like daggers. I am the WORST mom she could of gotten....I am sooooo sorry Payton. Mommy loves you, I am soooo sorry. Please PLEASE know that whatever happens I do love you, and just want you to be able to jump and turn your head.....I am so sorry I let you down.
Shaunna

You have not let her down. Please don't beat yourself up. Try to keep her and yourself comfortable and calm until Monday. Hate to wish the weekend away, but it is almost half over in your case. I know it is hard to watch them be in pain. I will be thinking of you. Teressa
