Question Fixing 2 puppies

We are planning to get our 2 furkids "fixed" next month when they turn 7 months. We have a male and female boxer. My fear is that they may lick each other's surgery stitches when we bring them home then get the wounds infected. Any advice on how to prevent this from happening? My vet recommended that they be fixed at the same time so the recovery phase for both is the same. Chances are they would both be in too much pain after surgery to pay attention to the other. Any thoughts?

I just go my 6 month old puppy spayed last week and my 12 1/2 year old Boxer sniffed at it once and never anymore. The hardest part is to keep them still. I didn't do a very good job and Bella has a seratoma. I don't think you will have any problems.

The vet will probably give you a cone for them, making it impossible to lick their own scars and very difficult to lick each others scars. You can also buy those at any large pet store, and there are cones made out of fabric that are more comfortable than the plastic cone Comfy Cone Soft Pet Elizabethan Collar, Specialty Items,

Once Happy and Sky had surgery at the same time (Sky got spayed and Happy had eye surgery). I'm glad I had it done at the same time, so they were bot tired, at least for the first 1 or 2 days.
I would separate them whenever I could not supervise them.

Good luck
