Odin's Nose is Dry All The Time
Hello,
Does anyone have any experience with dry noses? Odin's nose is chronically dry and rough. He isn't sick. Silly dog always has his nose to the ground when he's outside. Could the dirt be pulling the moisture out of his nose? We are constantly calling him "Dirty Nose" and wiping his nose off with a damp towel.
I am wondering if there is anything I can put on it. That chapped looking nose can't be comfortable.
Angela

Maybe he's a little dehydrated.

Look anything like this?

My late girl Molly's nose looked like that for as long as I can remember. Dry and crusty. I think there was some term for it but I'd never be able to remember what it was, and it wasn't anything significant that needed to be treated or anything. You could probably put vaseline on it or something, but we just left it alone.

Whiskers,
Yes! That is what his nose looks like! I know he isn't dehydrated, he has access to water all the time. We still wonder if it is because he has his nose in the dirt all the time.
Thanks!

I've used this nose balm before for dry noses in the winter.

Thor's nose is prepetually dry also. I use what Darwinsmom uses, Snout soother. It has worked well for him.

I use the Snout Soother on Biscuit as well. It works great. Her nose looks completely different after just a week or two.

Diva has had a dy nose for pretty much most of her life and she is fine. Sometimes I used to put some vaseline on it, but to he honest it would just dry out again pretty quickly, and so now I don't bother putting anything on it.

Both Rocco and Dino have dry noses too......and usually there's some dirt and/or food stuck in there too!
