My 6 year old boxer has fungal pneumonia

My baby,Augie has fungal pneumonia. He has been sick for about 6 weeks. THe vet has him on an anti-fungal, a cough pill and a stomach pill for nausea as the fungal pill makes him sick.

We took him off the meds for a few days to get him to eat and then put him back on per the vet's instructions. Now that he is on the meds again, he won't eat. We have tried most everything we can think of. Special canned food from the vet. He will eat something once or twice but then not again. He has eaten chicken and noodles, rice, won't eat burger, ate homemade chicken and dumplings. Will try that again. He ate a small amount of eggs and cheese last night, but won't eat anything this morning.

I don't know what to do, I am stressed to the max.

Has anyone gone through fungal pneumonia before? My other dogs are not sick.

What anti-fungal medication is he taking? I have had the best luck with Fluconazole as far as not upsetting their stomachs. My oldest boxer has had valley fever on and off for the past three years and has taken Fluconazole with little effect on his appetite. Good luck!

I will have to check, but I think that may be what he is taking. I'm so worried right now I can't even say for sure. I'm going to the vet this afternoona and will ask him.
