Sounds like things are returning to normal for miss Arabella- that's great! I hope Thor is in better spirits soon. I'm sure his body is handling things as best it can. Have you asked the vet if there's something else you can give him for the arthritis that won't thin the blood? Glucosamine maybe? Not sure if that has the same effect or not.

I just was reading your blog for today and it gave me warm fuzzies. I'm so happy Thor is having a good day And hopefully the supplements you found will be an excellent substitute for the fish oil you were giving him. Hope the whole family has a wonderful weekend!

Thanks Danielle! Thor is really doing so much better today!

After doing more research online, I have learned you cannot give glucosamine along with things that thin the blood, ie fish oil or rimadyl. It is recommended to wean off the anti-inflammatory and increase the dose of glucosamine. So I will be starting with smaller doses and working upto a full dose as Thor's body flushes out the effects of the fish oil.

Well it has been two weeks since we found out about the tumor and everything seems to be going well. Thor's appetite is good and there is pep in his step. I really can't ask for more than that! I may have to run out today but I am undecided as whether or not to take him. My vet recommended that there be very little jumping in and out of the car. The thing is I drive a 2 door and he isn't jumping anywhere. He has to step onto the floor board and then step onto the seat. If he didn't have to twist to step onto the seat I wouldn't hesitate at all. It's just that he loves to go for rides, so I am leaning towards taking him, and of course Arabella as well.

Speaking of Arabella, she is all the way back to normal! She is even back to her "maybe I will, maybe I won't" attitude towards eating her breakfast. I never thought I would be glad to see that again!

Glad to hear that Thor is still in good spirits and doing well I can understand your hesitation about the car rides. Sounds harmless enough, but would he try to jump when he's getting out? My dogs always step into the car gingerly, but fly off the seat when getting out.

GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!! that is music to my ears.
I surpose you have to forward think everything that thor does from here on in,it will take a bit of getting used to but if it keeps the problem at bay its well worth the effort.
Looks like Arrabella will have her fab figure back in no time now she is back to her normal eating pattern.

There is not enough room for him to jump out. Plus he is seatbelted in. By the time I get out and unlatch the seatbelt I am standing in his way. So as long as I move slow he moves slow. I took them on 1/2 my errands and we did go for a very short walk along the trail we pass. So they had a little extra fun today. The weather is suppose to get ugly tomorrow so I kind of felt the need to do a little fun today.

He is doing well today. Still plenty of pep. I do think he had too many treats of the new bison flavored treats. I caught my dh sneaking treats yesterday to him and Arabella. I am back to giving him his duck flavored treats and a LOT less! He did wake up early and hungry. And he hasn't shown any signs of tummy issues today. So we are back to a good day!
