What really helps with DM?
Over the summer, our 11 year old boxer started getting wobbling and when he would get a little over excited he would stumble, he then began slightly knuckling his hind legs as he walked. He was taken to the vet and everything but DM was ruled out. All of his lab work is excellent. The Vet said he is in extremely good health for a senior boxer except for his hind legs. He has now gotten to were he slips on laminate floors and almost does the splits before pulling himself up. I have been using a towel to help steady him as he walks, but he is hesitant to walk through the kitchen to the back door to go outside. I have researched and researched DM and come to the conclusion, I have no idea what to try. I live in a small rural area in Illinois and the vet pretty much said he would end up losing control of his hind legs and would have to be put down. Has anyone tried anything that helps at all?? I am willing to try and travel wherever, but not sure where to start. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated by my family and of course our boxer Tyson. Thanks in advance!
