Dr. Dodd is not a member of BW however she is a guru when it comes to thyroid issues and is always willing to help.
I e-mailed her one evening around 10pm and she responded within 3 hours.
She explains what the specific test numbers mean and will go into great detail to offer up suggestions and will even break things down breed specific.
She was the only vet who would diagnose my girls issues (thyroiditis) when her regular vet, oncologist and cardiologist kept saying that it was NOT a thyroid problem.
I have since utilized her lab (Hemopet) and they e-mail the results to the owners and local vets office as well. Each thyroid test including a TgAA are then given comments from Dr. Dodd personally as to what everything means about YOUR dog (not a generic reference range).
She will then also offer up her suggestions on dosing amounts based on not just the numbers but your pets overall health status.
She is also a stickler on the brand name meds and best dosing schedule to achieve optimum results.
Meds given 12 hours apart. One hour before or three hours after a meal.
So many times the vets say to give twice a day when you feed breakfast and dinner. This is not how to achieve the best results.
TOO MUCH thyroid meds can mimic the same condition you are trying to correct.
