Products for super dry flakey skin?

Hi all,
Champ's skin in all flakey and dry. I believe he has seasonal flank alopecia, so maybe those bald spots getting hit by the sun make it worse...?? He's on great food, so I'm not sure why else this would happen

Any ideas of a topical cream or oil that I can put on his skin? Or something I can add to his food to make it better? He's not itchy, just dry.

thanks!

I would agree that fish oil does wonders. I add a tsp of Timberwolf Organics wild salmon oil to Rocky's food daily. After two days using this stuff the difference was incredible!

I also add two raw eggs c/w the shell per week to his food. He not only loves it but it's also supposed to help the coat and the shell is a good source of calcium...

Thought fish oil is sufficient on it's own.

I have started using a product called "Shed Relief" on Buster. It has lots of natural oils, no chemicals or unatural products. It has helped him tremendously! It says on the directions a dosage for dogs with dry flakey skin. I feed him Wellness core and meat. He also gets fish when we have fish for dinner. Roxy's coat is great, but for some reason his seemed dry and he was shedding horribly. This has really worked!

We just started Harley on baths using Sebolux last week. It's done wonders to get rid of the dead skin. It might at least clear up what's there while you wait for the suplements to work.

I'd look at the shampoo you use too, a mild puppy one could help out.

I have a question on the fish oil. My father actually has three big bottles of capsules that he said I can take. Some are 1,000 miligrams and some 500 miligrams. Any idea how to find out how much Champ should have?? I have no clue what may be too much or to little

I give my 10 month old puppy (2) 1,000mg Fish Oil capsules (human ones) daily along with (1) 400 IU capsule of Vitamin E (human ones) daily. His skin and coat area GREAT. He's 63 pounds but I've been giving him 2 since he was around 40 pounds.

My 6 1/2 year old girl gets (5) 1,000mg Fish Oil daily and (1) 400 IU Vitamin E daily. I give her more fish oil due to her arthritis.
