Hi Jan,
I am so sorry to hear that Sophie is not doing well. My thoughts are with you.
Bismarck had the same problem at the same age and he lived until he was 13.5.

Thanks Olly.........gosh 13.5 is a good age at the best of times, we shall take heart from your post and hope Sophie can manage the same.

I too am awed at Sophies beauty! I've even called my husband in to the office to look at her photos because she has such a gorgeous look. Hopefully, since you've seen no outward signs of trouble before the check up, maybe this is finding it early and the treatment will give you many more good years without problems. Everything is better when treated early! Even better......it was just a fluke and nothing to worry about. We all send Sophie some giant boxer hugs and kisses and our best wishes for her good health!

She's doing ok - no adverse reaction to the meds so far, back to the Vet tomorrow for a check up. She has managed to strain her arthritic elbow so is limping round the place - as if having a bad heart wasn't enough to get the sympathy vote she's added a limp! So guess the vet will be checking that over tomorrow too - shall report back if there's any news.

I just caught this thread and my heart sank. Sophie is also one of my favorite silver ladies. Rocky and I are sending lots of ((((((boxer vibes)))))) your way. Lets do hope the meds help and the vet visit tomarrow is encouraging.

Glad to hear Sophie is hanging in there. Hope the pain in her elbow goes away soon. By the way, I just have to say that the picture of Sophie sleeping with her head on Dino when he was little is so perfect. It must be priceless to you! I imagine it is a true picture of how beautiful Sophie is on the inside as we all know she is on the outside .

Good news folks!!
Sophie has had her check up and the vet is amazed at the improvement - heart is beating in a nice quiet, steady rhythm - huge improvement since last week. Next check up is in a months time.
So guess the medicine and all those good thoughts you've been sending her have done the trick. Vet was grinning from ear to ear and so were we - Sophie doll just stood there like "told you I'd be fine - dunno what all the fuss has been over".
So thank you all and please keep Sophie in your thoughts
