ever had this happen???
OK I hope everyone is sitting down because I have a new one...Einstien had to go to the vet. today. It seems his penis got stuck!!! He was acting funny this morning like he was hurting I felt him all over and didn't feel anything but when I ran my hand down his chest between his front legs he freaked!!!
They had to put him to sleep and re-place it (that is what it says on my reciept) He had to stay all afternoon incase it happened again. Because it was so swollen.
He is home now and doing fine just sleepy.
Has anyone else ever had this happen?

Re: ever had this happen???
i was just wondering about this same thing!!
Liam's penis sometimes takes a quite a while to 'retract' and i always worry if it is going to get stuck!!!!
he is clearly uncomfortable when it happens but i don't think there is anything i can do to help him when it happens.
i feel terrible for him all the while !!!

OMG! Every mother's worst fear! I have to admit that I am often afraid that this will happen to Rocky. I just cant imagine nor do I want to! I certainly hope this does not happen very often for you. Imagine the vet bills for this one.

I got a kick out of that one I don't think I would have wanted to make that phone call either.

Re: ever had this happen???
Oh, the poor baby. I heard that if it happens, to try putting sugar on it-they lick the sugar off, which wets the area and it goes back into place. I don't know if there's any truth to that, but it might be something worth looking into. Glad to hear that Einstein is okay!!

Poor baby!!! I've never heard of this! I wonder what causes this??? Did the vet give you any input?

Re: ever had this happen???
yes I have had this happen twice before, once to a boxer male who was treated by the vet & once to a shih tzu I was frightenened , but after my second visit to the the vet a verykind & trained vet Nurse told me if this happens in future ordinary glucodin(glucose) put on the offending part would absorb the excess fluid & it would go down, well it did & I did have it happen again & the treatment did work , Hope this helps.
