Cool I might as well hand them my checkbook!

Ok, after the numerous visits with Oscar to the vet and all the rounds of antibiotics for him with the Kennel cough, and then the last set of boosters. Now we have the 'boarding season'. I am boarding him this weekend while I go home to WV to visit the family...there is no way I am subjecting him to that yet...or subjecting myself to that. I am taking Semmi with me.

Then next weekend they have to be boarded while hubby and I go to a meeting thing.

Weekend after that we are leaving for a mini vacation and have to board them again for four nights.

The kicker...Semmi has to have a nice tumor removed off of her hip, so we are going to do that Thursday before we go to our meeting thing so that they can keep a close eye on her over the weekend while we are gone. Yet another round of vet fees.

I might as well hand them my checkbook at this point...*sigh*

Thank goodness no one is due for shots anytime soon. At $14.50 a day for boarding each one and then the surgery fee...geez...glad I don't have kids, I couldn't afford them! LOL!

Poor girl...it's been almost a year to the day that she had a tumor removed off her other hip...this one matches the other one, and I believe it is probably another mast cell. YAY...she has teenty tiny ones all over her that are really starting to pop up...poor old girl.

I know how you feel,

I keep telling my vet I want frequent flyer points, or better still, shares in teh vet clinic.

But if they were kids I wouldnt think twice so....

LOL!

I mentioned to them yesterday when I was arranging the surgery and double checking all the boarding schedules, that they should offer a 'stay so many nights, get one night free' boarding promotion. The receptionist just laughed, I was serious.

All I can say is that they are great with my dogs, I have never had a problem, and I am totally comfortable with the staff there, so I guess I will just hand over the cash and be done with it. LOL!

I am sure we can all relate to the huge vet bills! I use to work with a guy who's sister worked at a vet clinic. She quit there after finding out that they would give animals meds, and treatments to keep them sick, or to have problems to make money. She has now opened up her own store with natural med's and pet supplies. She is not a vet, but she is experienced. I think it is sad how everyone get's into our pocket book. We were just discussing this the other day at work, with cancer and aids. We are sure that they know a cure for some diseases, but are making a killing off donations, so why stop it? Kind of makes you think a little...

I hear you - with my four, I always find myself anxiously waiting with bated breath and check in hand for the bill. I just shelled out $300.00 last week for two of them. Oh well, they are worth every penny of it! ~ Cathy
