How much longer before he stops hacking!

I am about to lose my mind.

Oscar is still hacking, however the nasal drainage is quite a bit less. The coughing has turned into sort of a 'honking' noise. He is sleeping well, and quite perky, but still coughing!

We are eight days into the antibiotic, 11 days since the first appearance of the cough. I'm exhausted!

He's getting dosages of honey, robitussin, benadryl, vitamin c and his antibiotic. I am about to give him a shot of whiskey (or give me one). LOL!

HELP!

He's such a good boy though...we almost learned "LAY" last night, but the coughing fits kept distracting him.

He's supposed to go back on Saturday for his second round of booster shots, but if this honking doesn't stop, I am going to call tomorrow to see if I can get something! Hydrocodone, prednisone, something! LOL!

At least he is sleeping and eating well. He's put on some good weight and it is looking MUCH better! He's so much more playful now and less lethargic...but the HONKING!

It usually takes about 3 weeks for kennel cough to get better. Don't give her vaccinations as they should only be given to a healthy unstressed dog. Wait for a few weeks.
