Surgery today

I've just got back from dropping Rocco off at the vets for his eye ulcer surgery. God I felt so awful leaving him there I am a wreck now.
I am to ring up at 3pm to see how things have gone and for a time to pick him up but he has never been left or caged before. I am hoping he will be first on the operation list then at least he will sleep until I pick him up.
It is going to be a long day!!

The ulcer is a lot worse than originally thought.
The vet has stitched a flap of skin over the ulcer in hope that it helps to heal it. it has gone very deep very quick. We have been given a 70% chance of a recovery other than that he will loose his eye.
He is very sleepy and down in the dumps he also hates the guard on his head that he needs to wear for 2 weeks.
So all in all we are pretty fed up and praying the procedure works.
Thanks for the posts everyone xx

70% recovery means you only have a 30% chance it will fail. That is good. Keep your chin up and give your baby kisses and hugs from me and Max.

All fingers and paws crossed here that it heals. We have had this procedure done once and yes he was really miserable but it did heal up in the end. Good luck.
