I have tried everything to download an avatar and it was always too large. But I read your post about the free download link for the thumbnails and then used I used my imaging and it worked.

Thank you

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! It really was a great, easy little program!!! Was interesting trying to find pics that show up that tiny. But got several to change around!

Say, how do ya get them to flicker back and forth from one pic to another? I couldn't find a thing on the site about that, must be a personal thing?

Once again, I say thanks as well, Adobe photoshop elements was not being very helpful trying to create my avitar, and the program you recommended was simple and easy...5 minutes to do compared to the 1 hour I spent on adobe....
Thanks again!!

Laurie,

I first downloaded Easy Thumbnails a couple of years ago. It is a very easy to use program, and it helps that it's *free* too!

I have other Fookes software as well. They make nice stuff.

I also use both Paint Shop Pro (by Jasc Software) and PhotoPlus (by Serif Software), among other titles. Both are also great at making avatars (and a host of other things as well), however I noticed that with PSP, one setting needs to be altered to keep the quality of the photo once it's reduced (in version 9 of PSP, the setting is called "smart resize" and is on the resize menu, near the bottom). PhotoPlus keeps the quality automatically. Of course, if you're making avatars, Easy Thumbnails makes it really easy! Great idea there.

I must be really dumb! I downloaded this software but they keep ending up as 96x64 pixel size and the avatars have to be 64x64. How do I make them 64x64 with the easy thumbnails program? Am I the only one having this problem? Please help!

On the settings tab make sure you you put 64 under max width and max height.

Thank you so much for this link! I've been messing around with Adobe Illustrator and this is so much easier! Should have an avatar in no time now!
Thanks again,
