State of Emergency in Nova Scotia
Hi all,
here in Nova Scotia, and our neighbouring province of Prince Edward Island we've been hit with a terrible snow storm. The province has suffered through hurricane force winds (100km/hr plus) and a record 94cm of snow fell in a 24 hour period.
Plows were taken off the roads, people are snowed in, many without power. Even emergency medical response vehicles can't pass many roads to assist those in need. For many its a terrible ordeal, especially considering that just 5 months ago we suffered through Hurricane Juan.
I am glad to report that myself, my husband and 3 boxers I are doing well, except for being snowed in for 2 days. Our street has not been plowed as of yet and we have about 2-3 feet of snow and drifts from curb to curb on the entire street.
Belle, Copper and Holly are enjoying romps in the snow. It's hard to believe that up til now, we'd shovelled our driveway only twice, and could see the grass in our front and back yards!
Please send your wonderful boxerworld healing vibes to all those here in the maritimes who need them, and perhaps a little wish for me that no more snow falls!
Cheers,
Lori

I hope everyone gets their power back soon. We had an ice storm last February that left us without power for 6 days! That gets old real fast!
Take care.

We lost our power for about 19 hours. It was starting to get a bit cold, but thankfully it came on again. Hang in there, sounds like we are getting some more snow tonight.

Hope everything works out ok and you get plowed out soon.
Fortunately the storm passed us by. We did get some high winds and the power flicked for awhile but NO SNOW .
I do know how you feel though, back in April of 2000 we got snowed into the house here in st. john's with I think it was 80 something cm's.

We thankfully, and finally, got plowed out early this afternoon.
However it's not quite smooth sailing yet.
The city has imposed a curfew for pedistrians and motorists from 10pm until 7am as many streets still have enough room for only 1 car to pass, or are still completely impassable.
Situation is improving..but the forecast is calling for another 15-20 cm tonight
Debbie...you and everyone in New Zealand are in my thoughts.. hope everyone makes it through the floods unscathed!
Thanks to everyone for their vibes

I am sending positive vibe and prayers for the people in your area and in New Zealand. I do not know much about snow storms, but I know about hurricanes. I pray that there will be no more snow. Please stay safe.

we lost our power again last night! just for a few hours the first time, and then about an hour the second. we've had ice rain yesterday and last night. the roads were a mess! at least a lot of the snow from the last few weeks had diminished.
