Running through the tall green grass
Running through the tall grass trying to find me I see those ears standing so tall. I hear you bark to tell me where you are, you come running out of the grass to greet me with wet kisses and kidney beans. This is what Britnee would be doing right now, with a heavy heart and lots of tears she is no longer with us. This morning was like any normal morning but Brit didn’t wake me up and kiss me. I had to pull her out of my sons bed, and push her butt out the door to go do her business. She was panting so I thought she needed fresh water, brought her in and tried to give her one of her favorite treats she pushed it away. I thought maybe she had an upset tummy and thought nothing of it. A few hours later I came home from an appointment and she is cold, with whitish/gray gums and hanging her head low. I took her to my vet and they told me to go to MSU since it seemed like a cardiology case. You bet it was, she had a Hemangiosarcoma in her heart. The pericardium was filled with blood and smack dab in the middle of her heart was the tumor. I had to make the hardest decision of my life, I had to end the life of my best friend and my first child. Britnee is running after the deer and birds now. Running through the tall green grass where god is now taking care of her for me, and where she can watch her skin sisters and brothers grow and make sure they are safe. I know Brit would’ve loved me for my decision not to let her suffer and to remember her the way she was. Brit you have taken a piece of my heart with you, I love you my girl and always will cherish the time god gave us together.

Jaimie,
I am so very sorry for this decision that you had to make. I know how very hard it is to make that one. Please know that your sweet baby is now in no pain at all and she is running free at the bridge. There is a big toothless fella named Rocko there that I am sure will welcome her with open paws along with many others. God Speed, Sweet Brit!

Jaime,
I am so very sorry. You have had so much pain to endure these last few weeks and now Britnee is gone. The pain is so great. Holden left last week, a victim of heart problems. I am sure he was there to greet Britnee, as he was really fond of the girls. He will romp and play in the sea and sand with her.
Please do take care of yourself and your baby. Godspeed Britnee.

Jaime,
I am so sorry to hear about your baby Britnee Eventhough it hurts really bad, you gave Britnee a very special gift, you helped her to the bridge to end her pain and suffering. She is thanking you for making the choice you HAD to make as she is now running in the tall grass and beaning like crazy. She will be well taken care of at the bridge until you are united again forever. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time

Jaimie, I am in shock, I can not believe everything you and your family are having to go through right now. A time that should be filled with happiness is instead filled with much sadness. My heart goes out to you.
You made the right decision for Britnee, it wasnt easy, but it was right. She is now running at the bridge waiting for you to join her there. She is with all of our boxer friends.
Take care of yourself and if you need anything you know how to reach me!
(((((((HUGS)))))))) from me, subi and bailey!

Jamie -
I just had to write and express my condolences. Reading your post made me cry right here at the office.
I am so sorry for what you are going through. They say that when it rains it pours, and I know it sure must seem that way to you right now. But please know that you made the right decision, and that you gave Brit the VERY best 8 1/2 years that she could ever have!
She is running around playing at the bridge and having an absolute blast! Take care
Courtney
