Question boxer-mix legs fall asleep?

My boxer puppy is a lab/boxer mix. It seems his legs are not strong enough to support the weight of his hefty growing body? I don't really know if that is the problem, but when he stands up - he wabbles and nearly falls because it seems his legs are asleep or not strong enough to hold his weight. Is this common for boxers or is this a mixed breed problem? If it does not improve, is it cruel to let him go on like this? Should he be put to sleep? Seeking advice...

How old is the pup? If he's just a baby and still at the waddling / toppling over phase, it may not be anything unusual.

Thumbs up

He is about 6 months old and is being fed 2-3 times a day Purina dog food. He actually seems to wait a minute before standing (indicating to me that his legs are asleep) and then wobbles in his "getting up". After he is standing, he stretches and acts fine! Thank you all for your advice, I am certainly going to take him to the vet. I was really wondering if this is a common thing with boxers (due to the long legs)? Thanks again!

Baxter is also a Boxer/Lab mix. He is 5 and a half months and also eats Purina Puppy Food. I buy him the Puppy Chow for Large Breeds. He doesn't seem to have much trouble keeping his balance, but I have noticed a few times that if he is travelling the stairs too soon after getting up from a nap that it takes a minute for him to really get going.
I'd ask the vet...might just be a growth spurt and he has to let the rest of him catch up to those long legs.
