Unhappy Grandma died...

My great-grandma died Monday morning. She was 93 years old & had been in a nursing home for a year. We knew she wouldn't last long because of her failing health & she said she was ready to go, that she had let go of her burdons but it's still difficult. I feel horrible because I never went to see her. The only time I saw her was if she was at the hospital (since I work there) and when my grandma brought her to family functions. She did so much for me when I was younger & now I feel guilty that she didn't know how much I appreciated all she did for me.
So anyone that has someone they don't see or talk to enough, please, for me, let them know you're grateful for them & all they do for you.

Shannon,

I am confident that your great-grandmom knew how appreciated she was even if you didn't articulate that to her personally. They have so much knowledge and intuition that I am often dumbfounded. Even if she didn't know when she passed, she knows now and that's what is important!

I'm so sorry to hear about your great-grandma Shannon
I have to admit that when my own grandmother was in a nursing home that I never went to visit her either. She had gotten a little senile and didn't always know who was who. It was just to hard to go and have her get confused and I wanted to remember her
when she was better. Guilt is an awful thing to bear, and I bet she would be very upset that you are feeling this way. I'm sure she knew exactly how much you loved her and appreciated her.
Again my deepest sympathy to you...........Joan

Shannon I'm very sorry for your loss. Even tho you didn't tell your Grandma things you wanted to, you can still tell her now......she's listening.
