Unhappy hard time with Hurley

Hurley is about 10 weeks old now. I never thought having a puppy would be so difficult. I am not sleeping well. She cries on and off all through the night. When she isn't sleeping she is chewing on everything. I have bought her bones, but she doesn't like them. She likes to chew on my sneakers or the bottoms of my jeans. It is just very very stressful. Does anyone have any advice or guidance? I would never dream of selling her, but I feel like I am going to lose my mind.

It's a good thing puppies are as cute as they are because sometimes they do make you crazy! I'm not a puppy trainer, but whenever she starts chewing on something she's not supposed to, you should redirect her attention to something else she can chew. If she doesn't like the bones, try something else. I'm sure there's something out there she likes! And make sure to keep her away from shoes now because that's a problem that will only get worse as she gets older. A full-grown boxer can destroy a whole closet of shoes!!! Good luck and don't worry, they really do calm down as they get older!

LOL, I don't mean to laugh Becca, it's just that Bentley is the exact same way. He adores tennis shoes, slippers and the bottom of our jeans. He is nine weeks old. I have found (through trial and error) a few toys that he does prefer over others. He really likes stuffed animals and the baby toys that have the rubber teethers attached. My only saving grace is that he sleeps fantastic at night, usually from about 9:30 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
Good luck and hang in there!

Stuffed puppy kongs, squeaky stuffed animals (like the squeaky weenier dog at petco) and busy bones have worked wonders for me. Roxy sleeps well at night, but I spoiled her and let her sleep w/ me. Now she prefers to sleep with the other dogs. Lots of exercise during the day will help wear out an active puppy (as you probably already know) Maybe a brisk walk during the evening to get her sleepy. My dog goes to bed around 9 and gets up around 6-7 am.

where is she when she cries?? i kept my girl in her bed on the floor in my room and she never cried...i had a blanket with her mothers sent with her too and this helped her alot at the beginning. ur little lady is just sad and lonely because the only family she has ever know is gone.

it will get better- my frankie wont touch those puppy kongs no matter what filling i use!! she loves telephone books LOL. try raw animal hyde chews they seem to work well for me.

good luck with her.

She sleep in her crate which I keep right next to my bed. That way when she does cry i can reach in there and pet her and talk to her. I must say this whole puppy thing is more difficult than I ever thought.
