Pray for Javi (once again)
My poor little coconut... I posted a little while back about a kid I babysit for who was 3 and battling leukemia. He was diagnosed at a year and a half and had been remission until it came back late last year. The poor guy went through a second round of intense chemotherapy and radiation treatments in order to prepare for a bone marrow transplant with the marrow being provided by his amazing 6 year old big brother. Unfortunately all of the chemo and radiation destroyed little Javiers' liver and he ended up getting a new lobe from his uncle. After both a liver and bone marrow transplant, things looked up. The bone marrow had taken and Javier was on the way to recovery. Doctors said that if he could last just 6 months without rejection of the bone marrow, then things should pretty much be in the clear. This was in December. 8 months later, the leukemia is back and the family has decide not to treat him. They are going to let him last as long as his little body can as they don't think he is strong enough to go through any more. They are taking a family vacation to Florida (Disney World I think) and are going to allow him to have as much fun as possible. No more being couped up inside.
I just ask for any and all prayers that you guys can spare. He is literally the strongest, most amazing person I know, even at just four years of age. His family has been through a lot and they can use all the support you can give, even if it is just in the form of positive thoughts and/or prayers.

When you read something such as this, it puts things into a whole new perspective. May God bless that little boy and may his remaining time on earth be happy.

Keeping Javi and his family in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so sad to hear this update. What a courageous little guy, and his family sounds awesome too. I hope their trip to Disney World is the best ever.

Oh my how heartbreaking. They are in my prayers. Please forgive this question if it comes off wrong... I am not at all judging but I am just curious why they are giving up? Have they been told there is no hope for recovery? I can’t even imagine their pain. But as a mom I can’t imagine not fighting either.
