I remember when I was 16 and had my first wreck. It was the same day I learned about the physics of wet pavement + sharp curve + brakes = hydroplaning.I ended up in somebody's yard (after tearing down half their fence). This nice old man that lived there came to check on me, and he said, "Are you okay?". At which point I busted out in tears. I wasn't hurt, but I was pretty sure my dad was going to kill me since the wreck had not.
I called a friend to come get me and went to break the news to my father. I remember walking up and telling him how I had wrecked the car, and much to my utter surprise, all he asked was if I was okay. Then he told me cars could be replaced, people can not. And that was that.

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too.

So sorry this happened, these things can be so scary and emotionally draining.
I remember my first wreck, I was driving too fast and another car ran a stop sign and BAM I ran right into her. It wasn't a horrible wreck but it was pretty bad, two totaled cars and pain in my back 15 years later from ramming my head through the windshield. The police man at the wreck told me, don't worry, you are still alive and you are still pretty, things could have been so much worse and a car is just a "Thing". That made me feel so much better.
And a year ago right before Thanksgiving, my SIL (whom I love dearly) was in a horrible accident on the interstate, she had a semi move over on her. She was pushed in front of his truck and hit again. She ended up flipping the car about 7-10 times in the median, and even entered into the oncoming traffic on the other side of the interstate. She was airlifted to the hospital where she stayed for about 5 days, making it home the night before thanksgiving. How she survived is truly a miracle. I can tell you that was one thanksgiving that we all knew and felt the true meaning of the holiday.
I am so happy that it was truly a minor accident, and that nobody has any injuries. Sending you lots of healing and calming ((((vibes)))) . Hugs to you and yours.

Update

BF got home from his cruise on that Saturday (I wrecked on Tuesday) and luckily he spoke with his parents on his way home before he talked to me, and they broke the news to him about the car. So whatever anger he felt, he got it all out of his system before calling me When I talked to him he wasn't mad at all -- he actually said "it's just a car, I'm glad you're OK." We dropped his truck off at the body shop a few days later and just got it back this past Thursday. It looks brand new, and the insurance deductible (lucky for me) was only $250. So, it all turned out OK.

Thank you again to everyone here for all your comforting words and encouragement. My buddies on BoxerWorld really helped me feel so much better about the whole thing.
