I have to post this story regarding my cousin (practically my sister because my parents raised her)..... This girl has had the hardest life.... She lost her mom to cancer at the age of 8 and her dad turned into an alcoholic. Because of his actions; and his abusive "new wife" he married; she was forced to move out at the age of 16 (with good judgement behind the courts even). She worked her a** off and paid for her own way through engineering school. She found a magnificant job; but just seemed to, forever, choose the wrong bf's. Finally she found a keeper and got married last May. Two months later, her Dad passed away with cancer as well. She was heart-broken, as she tried so hard to bond with him; and wasn't able to until his final weeks. The step-mom (who is a preacher

was very evil in concocting stories to detriment their relationship). In his last weeks, he realized the truth; and developed a recovered bond with his daughter (in the hospital). She told him that their first child (whether it be a boy or girl would hold some part of his name). At that quote, he squeezed her hand and passed away.
Now for the miracle......
At the beginning of the month, she found out she was pregnant (after losing his first 3 to miscarriages). When she went for her first ultra-sound, they told her that she was much farther along that they thought; and that the baby hasn't developed it's embryonic pole yet (which would mean that it would have trouble developing a heart-beat and lungs). She went back again this past Monday to decide what to do. They made appointment for today to do a DNC and abort the baby.....
Today I got a phone call from her stating that she and her husband went to the doctor's office today for the "procedure"; but when they hooked her up to the monitors, they had a heart-beat from the baby. They ran more tests.... It had developed it's embryonic pole within the last few days, apparently. The doctors deemed the baby to be a miracle. They gave her a 90% chance of carrying it to term from this point.!!!!!
Just wanted to share in our local good news!!! I'm excited to be Aunt Debbie!
