Bluffton Baseball Team Bus Crash:(

Those of you in the states have probably herd about the Bluffton Ohio Baseball Team whos bus crashed on the way to spring training. This is my small home town! The college is very small about fifteen hundred kids go here. It was a horrible shock to the whole town. Out of the 35 people on the bus, four of the players died, two are still in critical condition and are not expected to make it. Many of the others injuries range from ICU to minor cuts. Our community is very close and is pulling together as best we can. My youngest brother played on the footbal team with many of these player and it is tough on him. I can only imagine what these families who lost loved ones are going through. Thank god for an airline who is flying all of the families free of charge and for hotels putting them up, for the hospital staff and for the people in Atlanta who have been absolutely wonderful to all the families!!!! Please keep all of these families and our community in your prayers!!!!

On a personal noteur middle daughter is taking it hard. The baseball team puts on a kids night out every year. The young kids in the community get to spend the whole evening doing activities and games with the baseball team. It is wonderful and they enjoy it so much. This night was just a couple of weeks ago. All our children went but our middle daughter loved them so much that she asked them all to sign her baseball. They agreed only if she promised that she would come watch them play this year. She has carried that ball in her pocket since that night and now wants to sleep with it!!!! It's crazy how fast things change!!!!

I've been watching that on the news for days. What a horrible, horrible tradgedy. My heart, prayers and sympathies go out to the families of these kids, and for their friends and classmates, too.

I'm sending lots of positive vibes to your way!!! My heart goes out to the families of those players who lost their lives and were injured. I heard on the news this morning the total fatality count was 6 players. So sad, there have been numerous accidents at that site, and even though there are signs - hopefully they'll do something further

Re: Bluffton Baseball Team Bus Crash:(

Thats horrible it reminds me of a Bus crash a few years ago with a Girls School hockey Team from Ontario, it happened in New York I can't remember how many were killed but one of my friends daughters was on the bus and had move 10 minutes before from the front to the back of the bus and would have died if she had stayed there it was so horrible, especially since at the time it happened no one new if their children were ok they just knew they were on the bus. Prayers and Hugs to those families.

Re: Bluffton Baseball Team Bus Crash:(

I heard about the crash and it brought back the memories of the high school bus crash last fall close to my hometown that killed 4 students. I was working at the hospital the day of the crash here in Alabama so when I heard about the baseball team my heart and mind flashed back to that day last fall. My heart goes out to all the families and I hope the injured recover quickly.

Re: Bluffton Baseball Team Bus Crash:(

Listen to how crazy the world can be sometimes. About two weeks ago our local high school was on their way back from Florida when there bus broke down two exits away from the BU bus crash site. When the first officer arrived the bus driver let him know that he was bringing back Bluffton High School students. The officer was shocked because he was also one of the officers who assisted with the BU accident. He asked the bus driver to not let any of the kids off the bus until other officers arrived. When others arrived they closed down the highway and made sure our kids moved to the new bus safely.
Meanwhile waiting in traffic was a BU representative headed back to the hospital for the player who is still in Atlanta. He saw the bus and thought since so many people had helped our BU he would see if he could be of assistance to this bus. When he walked up to the bus he found it it was our high school kids. Immediately he called the school principal and let him know they were all fine. He stayed and comforted the kids until they got onto their new bus. Later he e-mailed our local paper and schools letting them know that he had wondered why god choose him to go to Atlanta. However, he decided that it was because he was meant to be on that road that day.
It's crazy how life and the world works sometimes!!!!
