Angry Boxers are mean dogs

I am so angry right now. I was walking my 4 month pup and came acrss a little girl and her mother. The little girl wanted to pet Chloe, who of course was more than willing to oblige. But the mother told her to stay away because, and I quote,"Those are vicious dogs." WHAT??? My dog is the most gentlest of souls. Sure, she gets excited around new people, she's a puppy and she loves to play and be petted. But mean? She has never exibited the slightest hint of aggression. How can people be so ignorant. Needless to say, Chloe got extra lovins when we got home.

And People Can Be Stupid

Yes, it is good that she doesn't let her child run up to dogs. I wonder if she even knew Chloe is a Boxer. Some people are really ignorant about dog breeds. One neighbor asked me if Emma is a Pit Bull - that's right, a flashy brindle Pit Bull!

I had a similar situation at the dog park. I can't remember if I posted it. Ignorance breeds ignorance. It's no wonder people are so misinformed about boxers.

We went to the state park for the usual trail hike and when we got out of the truck, a little girl told her mom "look at the pit bull mommy". My bf was quick to say "he's a boxer, not a pit and he's still just a puppy". By then, Buddy walked around the front of the truck to see where I was (and was close to the little girl) so I said "Buddy, where's Daddy?" Buddy ran back in front of the little girl like she wasn't even there. He didn't look at her or anything and just ran to find my bf. That was just my little way of saying how dare you call my smart, pretty baby a pit!

The part that really sickens me is that when Chloe is full grown, some people will assume certain things. She loves nothing more than to play and be petted and cuddle with you. I did correct the woman, told her that her daughter could pet her if she liked and said that she was just a puppy. Perhaps some people are destined to live in ignorance.
