strong, solid boxer head????

i am looking at a puppy now that is only two weeks old and i have some concerns due to the mothers head..hers is a bit long in the nose, muzzle area.
the father has a perfect head, strong and solid..spaced out in thirds..just like what the stanards call for..my question is how can i tell what kind head the pup will have???will they start to show the signs at 4 or 5 weeks???
any advice would be great...

I personally think dozer is absolutely adorable! Also, since he has a longer snout, does it help him in heat and cold? I've heard boxers aren't as tolerant of the extremes b/c of their noses...

You'd get an indication at around the 5 week mark... but 8 weeks is better. 8 weeks is the point at which most show breeders make their final selections because that is widely regarded as the stage at which you're seeing very similar proportions as you'll see as an adult (though the pup may go through all sorts of wierd and wonderful growth stages later). Obviously, it's not foolproof - but it is probably the best and most accurate age at which to choose.

Luka's nose is so short, from the side he has a little lump of skin above the leathery bit where it looks like its literally been pushed in! He snorts like crazy, sometimes I wonder if he gets enough air

I have been wondering the same thing about my pups, because the mother has the long muzzle and the dad's is perfect, IMO, but I picked them out and I love'em, so short or long I love them anyways
