How long??
Okay So we're getting a boxer puppy right now she's about 7 weeks old. The Breeder wants to keep her until she 10 weeks, I know that you shouldn't get a puppy before 8 weeks, and thats when they're gonna get her shots done, but is 10 weeks to long to wait? Will I be missing out on alot of the bonding and socialization if we wait that long? Or is it a good idea to give them a bit more time for mommy dog to teach them?

I think it's GREAT the breeder wants the pup to stay with it's mother and littermates until 10 weeks. They learn so much in the last few weeks, it will only benefit you in the long run. I know it's hard to wait, but you won't be missing out on much. Just be patient, you are doing your pup a favor.

Yea 10 weeks is good for the pups, I have heard some people strongly recommend you wait until 12 weeks. While anytime after 8 weeks is probably good, the pups can only benefit from the extra time.

Sounds like a pretty good breeder that wants to hold a pup until he is 10 weeks. I would be concerned with any breeder that wants to get rid of a pup before 8 weeks, they are generally back yard breeders. I got my Olive at 9 weeks, and am glad I had to wait the extra week.

We got Frazier at 14 weeks...he remained with the breeder together with his mother, grandmother, father, and a new litter of puppies..my vet said "that's not a bad thing"!!
He is very sweet and loving....
