Need your opinion!
So i went to look at a liter of boxer pups yesterday, Im getting my first boxer and am so excited. I went in planning on getting a boy because i have heard they will be more loving and follow me around, when i got there, two immediatly rushed over to me and my gf, one male that was for the msot part fawn with a little tiny bit of white on the back paws and a white almost superman S on the chest and a wrinkley face, the female was the first to us fawn with white paws and the most playful one, they also informed us that she was the smartest of the liter too, she immediatly started loving on us around my gf also, so obviously she wants the girl, they informed me that the boy would choose one person and be loyal to them, and that the females would be more open to everyone. It's my dog so in the end its my decision, but im worried that if i get the boy, i have a brother in the house that is home much more often than me, so im worried if i get a male, he will attach to my brother and not me. Does anyone have any opinions or experiences like this? I went in looking for a male, but at the moment im leaning towards the female, also the male was trying to hump all the other dogs already, is that a sign he could do that his whole life? Even after being fixed? He is a big teddy bear though.

IMO...although I am certainly no expert...I have heard from my breeder and a few others that boxers do attach to one family member as being " the special one"...but have never heard that males tend to do this more....my male and female follow all of us around all the time...if we leave the room they are right there with us...they wander from one family member to the next equally, as Boxers always need to be where the action is and need to be in the middle of anything going on....they love when my kids friends come over...they think it's a party and jump right into whatever is going on...I think it's good that your brother will be there too as the more socialization they get the better socially adjusted they are..I see that as a plus!!
I think between the two of them, my male is more affectionate and loves attention...so go with your gut and just plan that next one will be of opposite sex...in some ways having two is easier as they play alot together!!
good luck!!

Humping is very natural at this age, so no, it's not a sign that he'll be a humper down the road.
As for which one to choose - I wouldn't be too worried about who bonds to who - I would concentrate on the personality of the puppy and how that puppy will fit into your life style.

Personally I've had two boys and one girl and this was our first and probably our last girl to be honest. I've had a few female fosters and I've watched a few girls and I hands down prefer males over females. I love my female, don't get me wrong, and for attaching, no my first male attached more to my husband but when my husband was in Iraq for 16 months he adored me too and followed me around, etc, basically hubby was his first choice but if hubby wasn't around then he did just fine with me as well, my second male prefers me but gets excited when he sees my hubby as well, and my female prefers my hubby, but again she does just fine if he is gone and I am here.
I agree I would go with personality and your past experiences with boys versus girls. If you really want the boy, then go with the boy.

So i got my new puppy last night, i went with the girl, her name is bella, and she is amazing, super loving and fit right in with our other dog. Super happy with my decision. Does anyone elses boxers breath heavy? I noticed, when she is walking around, she has a deep breath, not really like she is having trouble, she just breathes loud.
