Hoping it all works out

We are anxiously awaiting for our new Boxer puppy. She is just a little over three weeks old right now.

Already, I am a little nervous. We do not actually get to "pick" our puppy. Our breeder which by the way, I am thrilled with, just had a this litter. Only two puppies were born. We have been on the waiting list for quite some time. One other person is in front of us to have first pick. This litter produced 2 fawn females and that is what we both wanted.

My husband and I have talked with the breeder numerous times and through emails. We also visited the breeder and meet with them. Its amazing that we found such a wonderful breeder that does ALL the health testing and has top shows dogs. We ended up seeing the mom of the puppies ( she actually let us pet her) and saw the puppies through a sliding glass door when they were 5 days old. Honestly, we weren't expecting it. My husband and I made arrangements to visit before the puppies we going to be born.

We played with the "DADDY" a lot. I couldn't have asked for a better disposition in any of their BOXERS. They were wonderful.

I am just hoping it all works out since we do not get to actually pick a puppy. Our breeder did say that if we do not want "our" puppy based on the personality, we could wait for another one in the future.

The other people are going to pick their puppy between 5/6 weeks. I said that I wouldn't visit again, until they went ahead and picked.

Part of me feels like we are getting the "left over". LOL. I wanted to have the opportunity to really pick a new Boxer. I have heard where some breeders pick for you.

Have any of you been through this before? Did it all turn out?

Right now as we are waiting for our new baby, we are reading all we can getting training lined up, and buying new things. Based on the markings and looks-we are already in love with our Boxer, but I worry about everything else.

It really is like bringing a new child home!

Congrats on the new puppy.

Most, or all, good breeders will help you pick a puppy based on what you want from the puppy. We ended up not getting our "first choice" ( based on looks) out of the litter b/c the breeder warned us that he was shy/nervous most of the time. We ended up with Johann....who is absolutely perfect for us (aside from eating our new couch).

Will you be able to go see your puppy before you bring her home?

Have fun getting everything ready for her.
