Question 1 week old puppies and people have already picked their pups

We have been working with a breeder and the puppies were just born 1 week ago. There are a few people ahead of us to pick their puppy and I am shocked to hear that of the 4 male puppies, only 1 is left. It seems odd to me that they have already picked a puppy, especially since the breeder doesn't allow any visitors until they are several weeks old. They have never seen the puppies in person and have no idea what their personality is like. Does this seem odd to you?

It is not that unusual. However, if people are picking show potential pups, lots can happen. Right now they are picking on just markings. Just because there is only one left now, does not mean folks will not back out, down the road.

I do not let people pick puppies out at this young of an age. My pups have to pass their baby health physicals first. I do let people be first on the list for certain pups.
