Please explain a co-ownership contract

What does it mean exactly when a breeder has co-ownership of your dog? Is this often assigned to a pet quality dog?

Co-ownerships are typically for show/breeding prospects. What exactly the arrangement entails can vary tremendously - anything from the breeder being a co-owner in name only, to having limited input on breeding decisions, to getting a puppy or entire litters back, with or without splitting some or all of the costs.

I do not know of any breeders that co-own pet quality and Ninyas breeder only co-owns her show dogs. The co-own is usually only done to protect show prospects from the kennel.
