Should I go?
I saw the breeder I am keeping in close touch with. They had a litter that I *had* planned to get a pup from Dec. 6th. I called the week after they were born to find out that there were 4 pups born, three of which were white. She said that is the most whites they've ever had at one time and it was somewhat unusual. They had one flashy brindle female, and they're not sure if she will go into conformation or not. So as I said I saw them Friday night and asked how the pups were. She told me they were doing well and were very cute. She invited me to come see them if I wanted(to just give her a call). I have decided to wait to get a pup(hopefully from this breeder later on this year), but I really would love to see these puppies and the breeder's other boxers. Should I take the "invite" and go see them, or not? I need a little BW advice because I have nooo idea what I should do. So thanks for any help/advice in advance!

Paige,
I'd go just for "educational" purposes. No such thing as too much information and background, you know? To be able to see the breeder's setup and observe the other dogs would be worthwhile. What if you get acquainted with and end up having a choice between several breeders by the time the right pups are available? Then you can choose the one you feel best about.
Have fun!

I would definitely go. A face-to-face meeting with the breeder and her dogs is invaluable. And if this litter doesn't have the right pup for you, it will still be an excellent opportunity to talk to the breeder about her program, make sure she's doing health testing, talk about plans for future breedings, etc. And if it doesn't sound like she'll have another litter soon, she might be able to steer you towards other good breeders in the area.

Thanks for the quick responses! I've talked to her several times over the phone and asked bunches of questions. She does health testing and they have proposed breeding one or two of their bitches this summer if they are finished by then. I would go in a heartbeat to see the pups, but I have to convince my mom..yes she is the one who will decide in the end whether I can go visit the breeder or not(even though I'm in HS) Another thing I am worried about is seeing the puppies and ultimately wanting one.. I know that is bad, but it seems like it would happen to me . How can I keep my constraint to not get one if I go? Again..any advice will help!

I would probably go to check the breeder and of course her boxers out to make sure all looks well. I would also go prepared with any questions that you may still have for her.
I would also phone or email to let her know ahead of time that you will not be purchasing one at this time. That you would like to just meet her in person and to see the dogs and get a feel for their temperament.
Good luck...

I hope you have good self control! Cause if that was me, I would of course end up taking one home with me, white or not!!
Best of luck in your search for your new pup! It will all work out in the end for you!

Everyone, Thank You for your replies! If anyone else has anything else to add, it will be gladly accepted! I will still have to convince my mom to go, but maybe I can. I have exams starting next week and I'd like to go before they start..so maybe this weekend! I've got time to change a mind before then . I really would love to meet all of their boxers..they said they have 6 I think..but I'm not sure. They're going to place an adult boxer soon, but someone else has first say on whether they want her or not. But I want to meet their other boxers and see how they are and see the breeder's kennel, etc.. So hopefully I can go! Thanks again for the advice/help!

Paige:
I would go meet the breeder. Go there with the idea that your pup is on the way. It is hard to resist the puppies but the dream of the ideal pup you want is what will get you by. I also think by going and showing them how much interest you have and that you are willing to wait for the perfect puppy for you will help show the Breeder how interested you really are.
Best of luck! Let us know how the visit went if you go!!

I would go too. It's a great time to visit this breeder and her kennel and just see how she runs things - plus it's always fun to go love on boxers and boxer puppies.
Have fun!!

Well I am happy to say that we're going to visit the breeder Monday(19th)!! I cannot wait! She told me to call her back Sunday to remind her..or to make sure she doesn't forget. The pups will then be 6 weeks, which is perfect to play with them! My mom's best friend is going to visit also, because believe it or not, in my persuit we found out that the breeder and her are pretty good friends! I of course asked the breeder first, and she encouraged me to bring the friend! So hopefully all goes well until then. I will try to take some pics and post them!
