Unhappy so sorry

Your ordeal was tragic, maybe it will help teach others about what can happen even with experienced and wonderful breeders. We will keep you and the puppies in our thoughts.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your puppies.....I am glad to hear that Sabine and the four little ones are doing well. I pray that continues....

I used to work as a vet tech, and I know that sometimes even the best of breeders can endure tragedies...I know it was painful for you to relate this experience but I do hope prospective breeders realize the pain that can also be a part of the breeding experience......

I can't imagine the pain and grief you have endured through this, I am sending my warmest thoughts and prayers for you and your family...

Sorry to hear about all the troubles.

As Matt has said, most people really do not understand the variety of problems that can occur if they decide to breed. They think you can just breed any dogs together, and everything is fine. I don't know how many people I have talked to regarding breeding and explain just some of the poetential problems that can arise, and their answers are, "oh that won't happen" "that doesn't happen very much" "I can't afford that!", etc etc.

Matt, you need to add your story to the litter horror stories web page.

20 months ago, we had a breeders nightmare litter also. I don't know how many times, I have tried to set down and write the story, and just haven't been able to finish it.

Oh matthew, what a terrible ordeal. I hope more prospective breeders read this post before haphazardly mating their dogs.

Best wishes for the rest of the pups. I'll be thinking about you and them

I have been watching the board for your story and I have greatly appreciated this. My husband now understands why I want him to be around more in the next week as our boxer will deliver. I have read about and heard about stories as this but never one that we could relate to so closely as reading it here on the boxerboard. This has truly changed our thoughts that since the bloodlines have never had problems that this delivery will be without problems! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and with our boxer in this next week that we do not experience the same heartbreak.

You certainly went the distance with Sabine and her pups. Loosing the puppies was heartbraking I'm sure, the 4 remaining are a testamonial to you're hard work. We will keep them in our prayers for continued good health.

Matt,
What a testimate you are to the role of a responsible and caring breeder. It must be so difficult still to deal with the loss. Unfortunately, we can only offer our thoughts, prayers, and support but most of us cannot even fathom what an awful ordeal you have gone through.
Sincerely sorry for your loss.
Joanna

Matt:
What a sad, sad story. I am so sorry. It was so good of you to share your story with all of us. I have a very beautiful 4 mo. old dark inverted flashy brindle. Her markings are commented on by everyone who sees her. So many people have told me I must let her have one litter of puppies; that they would be gorgeous and I could make a lot of money. Others have told me it just makes for a better dog to let them be a mother one time. I've said all along I know nothing about breeding or caring for new puppies and I certainly wouldn't do it for the money. I only bought my boxer for a family pet and she is a beloved family member. Yesterday, at barely 4 months old, I had her spayed. I had some doubts, but I really felt I was doing the right thing. Now that I've read what you've gone through, I haven't a doubt in the world that I've done the right thing. I know there are many new boxer owners like myself who visit boxer world for advice and direction. God Bless you, your family, and all the little puppies who I pray will get better and stronger each day.
