unsettled and confused
I have some unsettled thoughts and confused issues.I found a breeder who is registered and has been breeding for over 20yrs.She has some beautiful dogs.Sounds to good to be true.Price $ 1000 catch says they are registered BUT I have to send for the papers cost $15,(fishy) she does the tail docking, she also removes the dew claw (unsettling to me and my husband) she deworms herself I'm kinda ok with that. She says they will be SEEN by a vet but no health check.Just a hands on feel leerie of this. She has a big farm for her dogs to roam and there are some good things.Mother and Father on site BUT she says she don't force breeding she lets them do things naturally so how can we be sure who the father is she has about 20 boxers she also sells older boxers cheaper. She says her dogs are inside with the family and and not in any barn or outside in the cold says we can come by anytime and check things out that she is always home. She says her boxers will live for 10 yr life expectancy guaranteed if the dog dies before 5yrs she will give another puppy for free to help heal the heart,if the dog dies between 5 yrs and 10 yrs she will sell you another one for 1/2 price, also if you buy a boxer from her you can come to the farm any time with your boxer for your boxer to come and play with all the other boxers and once a month other people who have bought puppies from her can come and meet and let the dogs play and she also says that if we ever need someone to take care of our dog that she will also do that.My boy was such a great boxer and his temperment was so great I'm kinda afraid to get another boxer without all the health tests being done.Even though she offered that we can take her puppy to any vet and if we are not happy with the tests results for any reason she will take back the puppy and give the money back. But I'm thinking for the price I should have the papers and the health check done for me by her. There are other breeders who offer this for the same or less money. My heart is saying to get one from her but my brain is saying don't bother. What do you think.

This is the biggest red flag to me and I would not want to buy a dog from this person.
Having both parents on site is not necessarily a good thing, and, in many cases is actually a bad sign. A lot of good breeders don't own both the parents.... they had to go elsewhere to find a male that best complemented their female, for example. I don't want to make any broad generalizations, but typically if a breeder is just using the males and females that they own and breeding them together, it's being done with no rhyme or reason.
I don't know what she means by letting them do things "naturally," but if it means she just lets males and females loose together and lets them breed with whomever they would like, then that is super irresponsible and, again, not something I'd support.
20 dogs is also a lot for a breeder to own.
I would not bother with her, personally. It is ALWAYS a gamble when you purchase a dog, no matter how reputable the source is... but I want a dog that is in good health, a dog with a solid temperament, a dog that I can enjoy for 10+ years without having its life filled with heartache... and for that reason I choose reputable breeders so that I at least have the odds stacked in my favor.

Definitely sounds like a backyard breeder. The important thing is that both parents are health tested, more information/details see here: Boxer health testing
And like Whiskers said, a good breeder will carefully choose the parents and not just let them mate with whomever they want to.
Is there a boxerclub in your area? That's where I would start looking for a responsible breeder.

This breeder is CKC reg but like I said I don't like the idea of Naturally,I would be ok with it if she isolated the male and female from the rest of the other dogs.I would still like to go visit and ask more questions of her.I definitely don't want to support any back yard breeding. She also told me that she does rescue boxers as well.I would definitely not buy from someone who has bred their female more than 3 times because to me that is the limit after that I believe they are not concerned about the breed. The male is not from any of her litters it's from another breeder here who is also CKC reg and that's where I told her I didn't want anything to do with that breeder or their off springs.I know the red flags I've been preaching it to others for the last 8yrs my husband says I only am thinking of them cause we can get one right away instead of waiting maybe he's right. They do have a web site.

I can see where your coming from, you are impatient and want to get your new wiggle butt ASAP but try to not let your heart rule your head as it may only lead to heartbreak all over again.
I wish you well in whatever decision you make.

Wow, this breeder has too many red flags to even count! The fact that she is CKC Registered means little... it would be a bonus IF she were a reputable breeder, but this is definitely not a reputable breeder!
I don't think it's a necessary to investigate this breeder any further, in fact it would be a bad idea to put yourself in the situation where you might be swayed by cute little puppies because this IS a BYB you're dealing with.

Sorry but I would stay away from this breeder. Agree with the others, too many red flags, scratch them off the list.

They are in Wainfleet,Ontario. My husband says case closed we are not getting a puppy from this breeder.I have been reading and have read that once they see your not interested they try to reduce the price.I will be contacting the breeder of the father of my boy they have been breeding for 30 + yrs and she shows her dogs and she has a lot of conditions to get one of her puppies so I guess I will be giving her a call.My friend said if I feel like having the love of a boxer I could come and get hers and take her anytime her boxer Abby was the love of my Boozers life he loved his Abby. The 1st time they saw each other they were in love and when Abby came running to me and couldn't find my Boozer she sat and wined and wined then she jumped up on me and put both of her paws on my shoulders and gave me a big boxer kiss. Thanks I knew that I should run from this breeder but I guess I was looking at the puppy that closely looked like my boy.Sometimes we know right from wrong but still need the push in the right direction thank all of you.
