Does this sound right?

Hi everyone, I posted here a long time ago. About getting a boxer. I have wanted one my whole life. Well, now that we are in a house with a huge fenced back yard, we have started the search for our first Boxer.

Heres what I want to ask you all. I found this breeder.
The grandparents, and parents are on site. Champion blood lines, AKC registered. the BIG thing that I like is that they offer a 12 month health guarantee on the pups as long as you have a vet visit within the first 48 hours of bringing it home. Which isn't a problem anyway, I planned on having a vet visit and getting the pup microchipped anyway.

The rest of the "breeders" I have looked at are selling their pups for $200 to $300 less and offer no guarantees. I have seen their ads in the papers all the time which is a red flag for me.

Does the one with the health guarantee sound promising as far as being a responsible breeder?

For a breeder to be responsible they should have the parents tested. Here is a link to the test required. http://www.boxerworld.com/health_testing

If they don't do these tests then they are considered Backyard Breeders. Wish you luck with your search and can't wait to hear all about your new baby.

Definetely check out the health testing as the goal is to have a healthy pup bred by someone who takes that responsiblity seriously. Wish you luck in your search. Boxer babaes are the best

Re: Does this sound right?

Thank you a bunch. I will ask her if she does the testing and if she can provide proof of the results.

There is another breeder about 3 hours away from us that does do the testing and has a litter thats ready. Offers the same health guarantees

I will definately post pics, my kids are so excited. They are 4 and 2. So things will be very chaotic I imagine until we get a routine going lol.

I will let you all know when I find out about the testing.

To make it easier go to the "heath testing" part of this site and print that off-then you will know exactly what you are looking for Good luck and keep us posted-your kids must be so excited!!
