What should my breeder be sending home with the puppy?
We're getting our puppy from the breeder next week, and I'm curious what I should expect to take home (besides the puppy)?
Here's what I came up with: her pedigree, her parents pedigree, her shot record, some food...what am I missing?

I heard if you can bring something home with the mother's scent on it, it helps the puppy with the seperation. I may have read it here on BW - with all the reading I've been doing lately, I've lost track
You must be so excited!!!! Good luck!

My breeder sent me home with toys that his litter played with. Not that Rowdy told me , but I have heard it helps with the transition into the new home.

Ishie's breeder sent me home with his contract, genetic health garantee, 3-Generation AKC pedigree, his AKC paperwork, some of the kibble he was on, and his favorite plush toy (which of course had all the scents of the house).
Lily's breeder only sent me home with her AKC paperwork and some kibble.
So, it defintely depends on the breeder

Thanks to everyone for the responses! I didn't realize it varied so much between breeders. I ended up emailing the breeder to ask her what to expect.

We're picking her up on Saturday, and she's nearly 4 hours away, so it's just not feasible to take a blanket with our scent to her - though it was something we considered early on.

Besides all the usual paperwork, food, vet records, etc, our breeder included three pictures. One of his Dad, one of his mom with the pups playing around her, and another of the entire litter. I really appreciated the photos, as his sire doesn't live with the breeder, and also we didn't get to see the entire litter in person before we brought Cyrus home. I thought including those pictures was a nice addition to his folder!

Sienna's breeder sent us with her papers, pedigree,a toy that the litter played with, some kind of medicine, and frozen chicken liver? I dont know what that was for, but we cooked it and she licked the bowl clean. She still howled at night though, even though she had the toy
