How are they in the snow??? Not sure if you have expierenced that where you are but that is another reason for the SUV. I am "essential personnel" and need to be able to get to work.

We also have a Nissan pickup and another MINI on the way! DH works for MINI and has ordered his second Cooper S, it should be here soon, we can't wait. It will be the show car and DH will use it for demos at work, great selling tool. Can you tell we are MINI freaks? My DH is the local MINI club president, we do stuff all the time and go on ralleys and have parties and meetings and get to hang out with lots of cool people, it is amazing how one great little car brings so many people together!

Cool!!! My DH drives a yellow MINI with a black top! Great on gas and although I would love to drive it, I refuse to drive a manual transmission. I am stuck with the 2002 Ford Focus and although it is not the best car, it is paid off. I do love the MINI and whenever we do things together, he drives the MINI!

They are great in the snow! Haven't personally had much snow here in TN lately, but they are front wheel drive and your wheels are placed so well (in the bulldog stance) at the farthest points on the outside of the car and all your engine weight is up with your front wheels. I remember last time we had a really good snow storm here we were going to a friend's house pretty far away and there were cars and SUV's stranded, and ones that had slid off the road everywhere on the highways and interstates and we were just truckin' right along in our little tank....

LOL! I tried, it wasn't pretty!!! I am so uncordinated its not even funny. Does the MINI come in automatic? If so, maybe that will be my next car. Maybe I will try again one of these days! It is a great little car and my husband LOVES it! The dogs like it too! They love to look out the back window when we are driving.

They actually do have automatics in the Cooper and the S now. But the stick is more fun... It can be hard to learn and I am not the most coordinated person myself, but once you learn you love it. Did you try to learn on a different car or the MINI? The clutch on the MINI, IMO, is a lot easier than other cars I have had.

I orginally learned on a Ford Ranger, but also tried to learn on the MINI! No luck...... I think I will have to try it again sometime. Then I will be borrowing his car all the time!!!

That is funny, I learned on my first car (a Ford Ranger) too! It really is all about just getting the feel for the clutch, and trust me, the MINI is so much smoother than a truck! It can be frustrating at first, but once you get the feel of where the clutch "catches" (and stall a few times) it gets easier, and then it is like riding a bike, you don't forget how! We will be a 2 MINI family again soon... can't wait. Do they have a MINI club out there? Has your DH gone to the Tail of the Dragon? DH is going this year. It is too cool.

So the boxers do like the MINI it isn't too small? I have a vw beetle now, of course such a girl, and when I graduate college I was thinking of getting a MINI as my gift to myself but was afraid it was too small.
Do you guys think there is enough room for the boxers? They love the beetle I lay down the back seat and they stretch out and love the back window. I was afraid I would have to get an SUV, yay, there is hope for the MINI still!

Ok, you inspired me! I think I will try it out again this weekend! I will let you know how it goes.....
I don't know of any MINI clubs out here but then again, we have only lived in Phoenix for the last 4 months. I will have to look into it!

My two fit fine in DH'S car! Its not the roomiest but they do have room. Duchess is a backseat hog though and will sprawl out while poor Duke gets a little corner! Poor guy!

I have my black 98 mustang i got brand new when I turned 16 (it's my baby). It's all decked out with fancy stuff on it but it only comes out of the garage on perfectly nice days, and will stay with me till the day I die. I refuse to sell it, I've never had one problem with it yet in nearly 8yrs.
I also have a 97 jeep wrangler which is my toy. I bought it a couple years a go to have something to basically destroy and I'm well on my way. It's got a lift kit, big mud tires, big bumpers front and back and it's as fun as i ever imagined. This is my dog's ride because he hates riding in my car.
Next up will be an SUV when the time comes to grow up and get past my fun years, but I got a while before that happens yet.
