Count me in!! I'm a lunatic too! Thankfully, my husband will too, do anything he has to to save one of our furbabies. When we lived in NC we had to take our 2 $40 bunnies to be boarded to a vet's in Raleigh. On the form that you fill out when you leave them, they asked how much money would you spend if they became sick. I was floored. I told them there was no limit on what we would spend to save our $40 bunnies!!!

Another lunatic here as well! I would pay anything to help my girl. We don't have kids, so Ginger is my furkid. People that say they would not, definately do not like animals. That is just it. Something that I will never forget, about 10 years ago my Dad's chihuahua (who has since passed) needed emergency surgery, my Dad did not have the money, I told him don't worry about it - I lent him the money. She had the surgery and lived another 6 years after that. When an Aunt of mine found out, her response was "I would have had the vet put her to sleep!". I was so angry & so was my Dad by that comment! To this day it still makes me mad. She does not have any pets & I think she is better off.

Vet bills, toys, fences, new rugs, food, whatever it takes!!! I agree with all of you. They are our babies. I would give up my right arm for either one of them. Money? Whatever it takes! The vet receptionist laughs at my thick files from my two. They've been through a lot and they aren't even one yet. They are worth every cent and so much more! If that makes me a lunatic then I'm a proud one! And a lucky one! And a happy one!......

Yep I'd do anything and everything for my little one(s)! My husband and his family are the opposite, of course I'm slowly winning my husband over, after memorial day weekend, when we were out of town and we needed to get Clover to a vet ASAP, there weren't any open, I made him drive around the little town find a phone booth, then I called every vet number there...none were open, we finally drove past a vet and knocked so loud on the door for a good 10 mins until the tech came and I made him call in a vet! Then spent our vacation money! I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat! Now Clover has her own saving's account which Daddy has opened, just incase we need to do it all over again!

That's just what every pup needs! His/her own bank account! LOL I think the bank would look at me funny for putting Evie & Adam on the account. Good idea tho!!!
Add me to the lunny list. We were just talking about vet bills last nite even and agreed we would do whatever it took to ensure a happy life for our pups- - just as we would do for our skin kids.

I am right up there on the CRAZY scale with everyone else!! I would do ANYTHING in my power to help my furbaby, if she needed it! For now, she is my ONLY baby, and will continue to be my baby when we have skinkids (loooong time from now). She is a part of the family IMO, and my opinion is the only one that really matters when it comes to Layla!! I am her mother, and I will do whatever I have to do to fulfill my obligation to take care of her!! IMO, people who aren't willing to do this shouldn't have pets!!

At one time my husband had said he would never get crazy and spend any amount of $ on an animal. I on the other hand always said I would do whatever it takes. In the 16 months that we dealt with Dakota and her Chronic Renal Failure we spent close to $20,000. Fortunately it was never a big amount at once, but between all the testing, medication, food, Eprex injections and so on...that's the total. I don't regret one penny spent on her, she was worth it and I would do it all over again. Many people think we were foolish, but many understand our decision to keep her quality of life as good as we could for as long as possible.

The rest of my family are not "dog" people, they really cant stand getting boxer kisses from my katie and continue to think i was certifiable when i got her. But, that being said, they would spend whatever it took to give her the best quality of life possible. And the would be there with me for support if there was nothing else that could be done. So i guess i qualify as well. but then i think of katie as my daughter! And i would the same for my skinkid, james!

P.S. Grandma always buys katie x-mas presents and started calling her "my katie girl"

Hmmm ... I spent over $8,000 for Caesar's chemo. Still paying it off and he has long since passed. I must require electric shock treatments or something. Good g-d cart me off to the loony bin. LOL! What a jacka** this guy must be.

My husband always says he won't spend any money on a dog. Yet he's always quick to say, get them to the vet and find out what's wrong! We spent over 800 on Gniger in the first month we owned her, after paying 600 for her in the first place. That didn't include standard care and spaying, that was to save her life from mastitis and cancer. I don't think I want to add up the vet bills I've had on my two in the last year but I wouldn't spend a dolar of it on anything else. THey are my babies as much as my three other kids. I tell my husband we have five kids LOL. Me personally I'd spend everythingI had and take out a loan for whatever I didn't have as long as it was for the betterment of my dog(kid).

Absolutely!!!
Yes I would do anything for Luke. I love him so much and couldn't bear the thought of not being able to help him as much as I could. I would spend any amount of money I have.
