Hi Krikkit! The past few mornings I have been watching the coverage of Sydney. I was just curious if you or any of the other Aussies are going to the games?

Hey Robyn, we are not going....Sydney is about a 22 hour straight drive south of us Actually I do not know anyone who IS going. The town we live near is on the coast and gets very busy in holiday times. I was in the shop (the one and only shop LOL) yesterday and there were some toursits there - they were all from Sydney and had come up here to escape the Olympics. If we lived closer it would have been nice to go to some of the events. Am looking forward to watching the opening tonight If they have any bits and pieces on Australia keep you eye out for Fraser Island - we live in this area - we are on the coast across from the 'middle' of the Island

I had no idea you were so far away! 22 hours is like from my house to Disney World (only if my father is driving and does not get a ticket...I swear that man has a bladder the size of Texas!) All of the touristy stuff would get old really quick,I bet,if you were in Sidney now.

They had a really neat opening ceremony last night. Aside from a few glitches, it was very entertaining. USA and Australia had the closest amount of atheletes(600+), I thought that was cool.
I love the Olympics!! I can't wait to watch them every night, its so exciting. Go USA!
