Question

Don't you think that the end of Survivor was a little, well.... choreographed? In the final vote, first vote was for Kelly, second for Rich, third for Kelly, and so on until the deciding vote. I got the impression that we were being kept in suspense by a setup vote. Does anyone else believe that, at least in part, Survivors and Big Brothers is staged??

Thumbs up

You're probably right, but I still enjoyed the show. I don't watch too much regular tv - I stick to cable (Discovery/TLC/Animal Planet are what I usually watch if at all) and I really got a kick out of Survivor - even if it was fake.

But I belive you are right - we noticed in a few episodes where Susan's finger was hurt, that she had the same bandage in eariler episodes before the accident actually happened. Also hairstyles and clothes were also changed around. So I'm sure they shipped Survivor to the editting block before anything else!

There is no way that I thought Rich would win LOL - just as well we did not have money on the outcome I thought Susan's now you see it, now you don't bandage was poor editing

Hi, Krikkit! Love Survivors but Big Brother is even better. It started out with 10 people being closed up in a house for 3 months with no outside contact, no tv, newspapers, etc. Each week they must choose two people to be banished from the house and then the public votes to banish one of the two chosen. I guess the premise is very much like Survivor but the relationships that have developed within the Big Brother house are so totally different from those on the Survivor program. On Big Brother the people have become like a big family and are always hugging, sharing feelings and helping each other in contrast to Survivor where it became an "every man for himself" mentality. I think the Psychiatric community must be having a heyday with these programs. A real study in human nature!! Unless, of course, both programs are staged then edited before they ever hit the screen. Have a great day!!

I am a psych major at UT in Austin and from when Survivor started last semester lots of my professors have been talking about it. Also how they always interview Dr. Drew ( relationship specialist) on Big Brother, you are right. They are also interested in why everyone likes the shows so much. Can't wait for school to start to found out what they have to say this semester! I'm sure someone will bring it up.

I'm so upset that Rich won, I was mad at Kelly for voting Rudy off, cause I knew she wouldn't get it. Oh well. Hey Krikkit, Survivor is gonna be in your neighborhood next time! Thats pretty exciting!

'Survivor' was certainly a big hit this summer - that's all anyone talked about on a Thursday morning at work!! We were all rooting for Rudi and Richard's win was a BIG surprise! He certainly cleaned up well - all that loose flesh hides well under formal clothes!! We were all horrified at Susan's blast at Kelly - sore loser!! I'm looking forward to the next episode. I've watched a few shows of 'Big Brother' but not on a regular basis. Now what am I going to do on a Wednesday evening between 8 and 9 !!!!!!!
