In defense of your husband, I have learned from experience, sometimes it is better to let my dh talk. He seems to get the point across better than I do. (I tend to get a bit angry and theatening about bad publicity.) Maybe your husband knows it is just better to stand with you and let you lead verbally.

Sorry to hear it did not work out, but kudos to you for firing him.
 That is silly to say wait for paint to cure in 30 days, if it is peeling now, it will not be any better in 30 days. What an IDIOT! 35 yrs. experience my butt!
