I was just wondering who is going to have the swine flu jab? I'm not sure yet! I'm thinking it can't be that different from the usual flu jab offered out every year, people seem to be okay with that one, plus they're giving it to the sick first.
I have never gotten the traditional flu shot nor do I plan on getting one any time soon. Won't be doing the swine flu shot either....for many reasons!
Matter of fact I have not heard from ANYONE who is getting the shot and have talked to tons of people about it.
My friends 12 yo daughter was diagnosed with swine flu last week however she was not tested and was told that any flu NOW was not traditional as it has not hit yet (don't know if I believe that). She missed school for a few days and was back this week. Neither my friend or her son (much younger) contracted it.
I'm not getting it or any flu shot - ever. I was thinking about getting it but found many many articles saying they have thimerosal (mercury) in some of them. Here is a table showing ingredients of vaccines http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/pin...nt-table-2.pdf
While this video is using humour to get the point across it still shows clearly what goes into some vaccines
When "weighing it up" I don't feel I "need" it - in Australia the peak period seems to have passed and many health professionals have said it is no worse than the normal flu for most.
I will be getting it as soon as it is available to me. I have a 7 month old who goes to daycare, and she will be getting it as well. Her daycare already had one confirmed case, and quite frankly, I'm pretty scared about the whole H1N1 thing. Its just so scarry that it is hitting the young and healthy.

I never get flu shots and have no plans to do so. From what I've heard, most cases of swine flu are milder than the 'traditional' flu that goes around every season. It just seems to be affecting younger children more so than usual. Unless the virus mutates, more people will likely die this year from the typical flu than the H1N1.

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too.
I personally do not get any vaccines and I will never. I did some research and looked up (on the vaccine manufacturer's websites) the ingredients lists for common vaccines.... thank you, no, I would rather just drink straight poison than inject that stuff into myself. Just my personal feelings on the matter....
My hubby and my daughter had H1N1. My daughter got better alot quicker than my hubby, who is still not feeling great. It really sucks, and it is alot worse than the regular flu. The doc put the whole family on that tamiflu stuff, because I take care of people for me job and the baby is only 2. Trust me it sucks.

I agree;
Have not got the flu shot since I retired from the military, have not had the flu since then either.

I think you might think differently if you ever got a disease that vaccines protect against, maybe not influenza, but there are many other protective vaccines out there.

I plan on getting it, when I'm allowed to go at end of November/beginning of December. I would much rather deal with the side affects of the vaccine than the flu. I've known many people who have received it, with no problems other than a soar arm for a couple of days. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
