Extreme Makeover Home Edition building a home 5 miles from me

A family in our county was chosen for the home makeover. They live right outside of Bunker Hill,In which is not very far from my house. They have 4 children and they go to school with my grandchildren. Their daughter has a rare blood disorder and they have been fighting mold in the house for about 5 yrs. They thought they got it all but it came back. The house came down yesterday. The family really are great people and I'm happy for them. I think it is going to air in January some time. People are coming from all over to watch. What is really bad is it has been raining off and on since they started. Hopefully the weather will hold off so they can finish on time.

Are you going to go down and watch? I was able to watch a makeover a couple of years ago. A family from our community also had a extreme make over home addition too. My brother-in-law and some of my cousins were able to work on the house as they are all builders and carpenters. They had a couple of choice words about how the "inner" workings of the show was but all in all they had a good time.

There was a lot of rain when this home went up but it still really was finished in 7 days.

The home is very beautiful and was a really neat thing to watch. Have fun!

That is so cool! You gotta go watch when they show the house for the first time so you can be on TV!

They did a build two streets over from me a year or so ago. It was an old farm house that they rebuilt for the family. The lady had just lost her husband and she runs a horse riding farm that helps disabled children and adults. The house went from a run down farm house to a 4000+ sf ft dream home.

I drove up the driveway to look at the house and it is beautiful. They also built her an indoor stable for the horses and an indoor riding area so when its raining the people can still come for the therapy. Also the drop-off area has a big overhang so the people wont get wet getting out of their cars to go into the facility. Its a theraputic rehab riding facility for people with injuries (brain) and disabilities I believe.
