Yep we've got loads too they hang out all over our glass doors and fly screens. I have to let my furry one out quickly otherwise they all try and fly in. Not noticed the smell so will keep away I think

Yeah...spoke too soon. They were back today, lol. I haven't noticed a smell either.

i hear they were imported from asia to control a differant bug but got out of control,they live in the soy bean fields and take off when the beans are harvested,,,thier a big pain in the butt even birds dont eat them,,,,

They only smell if you touch them.. And it's not something you would smell in the air.. Say you go to pick one up with your hands, not just letting it walk on you but actually grab it, whatever you touch it with will smell. I even used a tissue to pick one up before and it went through it and I could still smell it on my fingers. Or if you vaccuum them up like I do then you'll be able to smell it a little. It's not a strong smell but it adds to the aggravation. It's their defense.

I ended up spraying around my door with Raid. It was hornet and wasp raid but it seemed to have worked. I don't know if i'll have to re-spray today but it killed them and kept them from coming in the house for the rest of the day yesterday.
